She mainly teaches Digital Business and Research Methodology and supervises student dissertations at different levels. Melody is a Fellow in the UK Higher Education Academy. She has been serving as Associate Editor for the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), and Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) every year in tracks related to human behaviors, adoption and usage, and user/customer engagement since 2018. In recent years, she is working on promoting user voluntary contributions to technologies - a new concept called "Technology Extra-Role Behavior." Her research has appeared or will appear in Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Information Systems Journal. With a background in marketing and psychology, Melody is interested in studying individual behaviors at the post-adoption/-purchase stage. She also held visiting positions at the University of Hong Kong and Clemson University. She received her PhD in Information Systems from the City University of Hong Kong.
